Hi! Ni hao!
I'm Lawrence, a professional poet living in Malaysia's Klang Valley, where I teach people to write poetry. I like cycling every day, and I am a full-time parent and home-maker (like a 'housewife' in the old thinking!).
I used to teach English and am also working as a proofreader and copy-editor; my English level is almost as high as it is possible to be! The opposite is true for my Mandarin level.
I began to use Duolingo to learn Mandarin in November 2022. I can read some printed characters, but I don't have anyone to practice speaking and listening with.
I would like to practise Mandarin/English for one hour per week: 30 minutes English, 30 minutes Mandarin. I am a beginner in speaking, so I need a partner who is very patient with me!

My name is Reagan. I was born and raised in Malaysia, speaking Malay, English, Chinese Mandarin, and Cantonese on a daily basis.
I am a language enthusiast residing in Malaysia, who wish to enhance myself for casual and business conversation.
I've studied in Malay and English in school and spoke in Chinese Mandarin, and Cantonese with my friends and family (though I can't read and write).
I've studied French and Thai before but wasn't able to follow through with practice. I've a beginner level certificate for Korean language as I have alot of affection for their culture and practices, and hope to further that, together with my Japanese, in which I have not officially studied before.
I came from a Food & Beverage training background and I hope to help others in whichever ways I can. I operate my own business but free time is difficult to come by, therefore I hope to use this language exchange program to my advantage in learning and teaching.
